Mumian Beijing Daxing International Airport
What won us over here is the audacity of putting a design hotel inside the...
Beijing Daxing International Airport opened in 2019 on empty land south of the capital, and the Gaomidian district around it has filled in since with the offices, exhibition halls and hotels that a new airport corridor needs. Hilton Beijing Daxing is one of them: a modern tower built for people whose business runs through that corridor rather than through the Forbidden City or the hutongs twenty kilometres north. It keeps an indoor pool, a spa and a fitness centre for the hours outside meetings, and a Presidential Suite with its own terrace for the nights that call for more space. This is not a hotel for a first look at Beijing. It is the one to book when the airport and the conference room, not the Great Wall, set the itinerary.
We kept this hotel on the list because it solves a specific problem well: Beijing now has two airports and a sprawling business geography, and travellers working the Daxing side need somewhere competent nearby rather than a trophy address forty minutes closer to the Forbidden City. Hilton's standards hold here — an executive lounge, a digital key, free EV charging and complimentary self-parking, the kind of detail that matters more to someone on a fourth work trip than a view of a palace roof. Guests rate it close to full marks on independent review sites, which for a hotel built mainly for business traffic is the stronger signal than any awards shelf.
Hilton Beijing Daxing sits in Daxing District's Gaomidian area, close to the exhibition and conference halls that have grown up around the airport rather than inside the terminal itself: it is roughly 28 kilometres from Beijing Daxing International Airport and 51 kilometres from the older Capital International Airport, so a taxi or a pre-booked car is the way in and out rather than a shuttle bus. The capital's centre is about 19 kilometres north, within reach for an evening but not a stroll. Closer to hand, China Movie Park is about 4 kilometres away and the Beijing Automobile Museum around 10, two options for a free afternoon between meetings rather than a dedicated sightseeing day.

The room list leans toward people staying more than a night or two: non-smoking floors, connecting rooms for colleagues travelling together, and a Presidential Suite that adds a separate living room and its own terrace to the standard business layout. None of it is showy. The point is a desk that works, a bed that recovers a traveller after a long flight, and enough separation between the bedroom and the terrace to take a call without pacing the room. It is a hotel built around the stay, not the view from it.
Dining stays practical rather than destination: an all-day restaurant handles breakfast through dinner, and the lobby bar and lounge, with its seating and HDTV, is where most evening meetings actually happen. Room service covers the nights that run too late for either. The executive lounge is the better reason to linger, a quieter floor for guests who want coffee and a laptop away from the lobby traffic. None of this competes with Beijing's destination restaurants, and it is not meant to: it is the reliable option for a guest whose day already has enough decisions in it.
There is no airport shuttle from either Beijing airport, so budget for a taxi or a pre-booked car, roughly a thirty-minute drive from Daxing's terminals in light traffic. Self-parking is complimentary for guests arriving by car, though valet is not offered. Smoking is restricted to designated outdoor areas, the hotel does not accept pets, and check-in runs from 3pm with check-out at noon. For a stay built around a conference or a factory visit nearby, book here first and plan transport into town as a separate trip.
